The SimworX Helisim comprising advanced Cyclic, Collective-Throttle and Anti-Torque Pedals comes in a complete scale size 2 seat Cockpit based on an R22 Robinson or can be supplied in a fixed base format that has a smaller footprint.

They can both be formatted for dual controls providing hands on instruction for hovering, manouvering as well as VFR/IFR training. Both models can be supplied with Bell Jetranger Collective & Cyclic or Robinson R22 Collective and Cyclic controls.

We utilise Customised off the shelf software, with the engine and flight instrumentation displayed on an LCD panel fitted into the central control console. The primary display can either be a projection system, 3 panel LCD display or a widescreen LCD or Plasma.

With the cost of real world Flight Training escalating every year, this is a very cost effective way of learning and teaching basic Helicopter Flight Control prior to taking the controls of a training aircraft.

For Flying School Training or for the discerning rotor wing enthusiast the Simworx Helisim Pro and Pro Plus is the most cost effective method of putting you in the Cockpit.

Helisim Pro - Single Pilot controls

Helisim Pro Plus - Dual Pilot controls

Helisim Finishes:

Standard colours include blue on white or alternatively red on white in a high gloss epoxy oven baked  enamel. Custom Colour scheme on request.

Helisim Fitout:

Standard seats are colour coded to exterior scheme. Can be fitted with Eurocopter style Seats or Bell Jet Ranger Style Leather Seats - POA.

Audio:

Dolby Pro Logic dual system fitted as standard, split controls for pilot and Trainee/  passenger. Headphone jacks on both controls with adjustable bass/vibration setting. Sub Woofers built into seat bases.

Power Supply:

Power to all Helisim ancillaries including PC and Primary Visual Display is supplied via a surge protecting Powerboard. Standard power Supply is 240V. 50Hz, @ 10amps, can be formatted for other voltages at time of ordering.

Flight and Engine instrumentation are displayed through a glass control console and interactively displays all instrumentation.

Helisim Pro Control Summary

All of the major controls are simulated in the Helisim Pro

  •  Cyclic
  • Collective with interconnecting linkage to the throttle
  • Throttle
  • Anti-Torque Pedals
  • Collective and Cyclic Friction

The Cyclic - Controls the main rotor disc's attitude which in turn controls the fuselage attitude. When the cyclic is eased forward the aircraft's nose drops which results in an increase in airspeed. When the cyclic is eased back, the nose pitches up, decreases the airspeed and the aircraft climbs. Sideways movement of the cyclic causes the aircraft to roll in the direction of the cyclic movement, Torque Pedals then used to correct the aircraft's yaw.

The Collective - Primarily controls the main rotor blade's pitch. When the lever is lifted the main rotor blade's pitch is increased.

The Throttle - The throttle control is located on the end of the collective handle in the form of a twist grip. The throttle is opened by rolling the grip away from you and is closed by rolling the grip towards you. When the collective is increased so too is the throttle via a governer mechanism

The Anti-Torque Pedals (Yaw Pedals) - These control the pitch of the tail rotors, therefore altering the power required by the tail rotors. The pedals are used in forward flight to keep the aircraft in balanced flight (i.e. the nose pointing forward to reduce drag from the aiframe). When in Hover they can be used to perform spot turns, which are basically turns where the turn axis is the main rotor shaft .

Applying Left pedal causes the nose to turn to the left

Applying Right pedal causes the nose to turn to the right
